Barry Quarles Presenting at the Tampa Bay Partnership Annual Investor Retreat
Getting close to our customers. Whenever we have the chance we like to work as closely as possible with our business partners. We’ve found that conference calls, e-mails and phone calls cannot replace the intimacy of sitting down person-to-person. Sitting across the table from one another, enjoying a meal together or just sharing a relaxing evening helps reveal important business issues and fosters creative solutions to problems.
MEG Research President and Research Director Barry Quarles recently traveled to Tampa Bay where he had a chance to sit down with the leaders of the Tampa Bay Partnership (TBP), an organization actively promoting business interests and company relocation to the Tampa Bay region.
The Tampa Bay Partnership’s major goal this year is to attract the top quality medical manufacturing and medical research organizations to promote the region as a place to do business–but first the partnership had to better understand how the Tampa region is perceived by the leaders and decision-makers at these companies.
The MEG Research team reached out to the top leaders in the industries to better understand how they felt about the Tampa Bay Region and the surrounding communities as a place to do business and Barry personally presented as part of a two-day TBP investor meeting.
After the presentation, Barry had the chance to brainstorm with the TBP team to help them use the research to refine their business plan.
It’s all part of creating a win-win scenario by getting closer to the customer.
